NICKY Butt says only a victory against Stoke City tomorrow night will leave him contented as he steps back on to the bus after their crunch clash at the Britannia Stadium.

Newcastle have won just once in 2009, and time is running out on their bid to beat the drop.

Butt insists, with Alan Shearer leading the way, every Toon player is reading from the same songsheet - and nobody is under any illusions at Newcastle's task against Tony Pulis' side.

The former Manchester United man told the Chronicle: "We need to win the game.

"Chelsea was always going to be tough. They are one of the top teams and showed it against

Liverpool the other night. We contained them and restricted them to one and a half chances.

"We have to take things from the game, and realise Chelsea are one of the best teams around.

"If we do what we did against Chelsea against Stoke, but try to create more chances, we will be OK. …
