Dancer Stages a Homecoming; Main Stage: Essence of Ireland

CHRIS Gage hopes to see familiar faces in the audience when he steps out at Middlesbrough Theatre on Tuesday.

Originally from Stockton, the 28-year-old is starring in ESSENCE OF IRELAND which will be in town on Tuesday.

The show blends both old and new - with traditional Irish music and dance coupled with the popular Irish music of today.

Ten dancers, seven musicians and a kaleidoscope choreography come together for the performance.

"The show is great because we have a live band," said Chris, who left Teesside at 15 to study in London.

"It really makes a difference to the performance." Chris, who started dancing when he was six, made his West End debut at 15 playing the role of Snake in Oliver! at the London Palladium.

He trained at the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts as well as the Circus Space in collaboration with the Central School of Speech and Drama.
