OUTSPOKEN A-League newcomer Gold Coast United hasn't earned the right to host its season-opening derby game, according to Queensland Roar defender Andrew Packer.

Officials from the tourist strip have this week voiced their anger over reports their opener had been switched from Gold Coast's Skilled Park to Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium in the latest draft of the 2009-10 draw.

The draw will officially be unveiled by Football Federation Australia on Monday.

While Gold Coast coach Miron Bleiberg labelled it "unfair", billionaire owner Clive Palmer has simply refused to believe it, saying the FFA would "do the right thing" and stick with its original draft.

The August 8 match would have been a sell-out for United's 28,000-strong venue but Packer said the new kids on the block shouldn't be dictating terms.

"It should be at our ground. We are the side that has been here for four years - they should have the hard trip," he said yesterday.

"They are a new side and it should be tough for them - they can't expect an easy game first up. …
