Business Summit Aims to Inspire

DON Waugh knows the importance of looking ahead in business.

As the Gayndah Chamber of Commerce president, he encourages local businesses to grab every opportunity, such as the North Burnett Rural Innovation Summit which will take place in Mundubbera on June 5.

"Businesses go fairly well (in Gayndah), but they are always looking out for new ways to improve," Mr Waugh said.

"Some places in the North Burnett have had a bit of a downturn recently, and I think they would be interested in looking for ways to progress too."

The summit is a joint effort between the North Burnett Regional Council and the Wide Bay Burnett Area Consultative Committee (WBBACC), as part of the North Burnett Futures Program, with the aim of helping businesses grow.

"It's a session to assist, advise and inspire local businesses," North Burnett Region Mayor Joy Jensen said.

Guest speakers from successful businesses across the state will give talks on how they got to where they are, and offer anecdotal advice for people in the same position. …
