Owners Stephen and Julie Cockrill built the property themselves five years ago and knew from the start of the project they wanted to create a house with a period feel to it.

"We wanted to create something in period style, the area we live in is a conservation area and we wanted it to be very much in keeping with the surroundings," said Julie.

The result is the luxurious six-bedroom house that the couple have finished to impeccable standards and in a timeless style - so much so that it recently featured in 25 Beautiful Homes magazine.

It has anything any self respecting family could possibly need - starting with the real heart of the home family kitchen.

"The kitchen is probably our favourite room," laughs Julie.

"It is a real hub of the home and where we spend most of our time.

"We have two dogs as well and from the kitchen you can get straight out into the garden - they dictate where we are really, the rest of the rooms are hardly used in comparison!" "There's a seating area in there too and it also leads in to the pool." Banks of cream units and smooth granite work surfaces give the huge room a contemporary feel. There's a large centre island with twin circular sink units, a chimney breast housing a cooker range and integrated appliances including microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Twin sets of French doors lead out to the garden and double doors lead on to the pool and spa area.

Here, steps lead down into the pool with its underwater lighting, there's an inset circular Jacuzzi with mosaic tiled flooring, a sauna for six, his and hers showering area and twin changing rooms. …
