A LOVING mother and grandmother has lost her brave battle against illness.

Kath Duggan (nee Miller) died suddenly but peacefully from motor neurone disease. She was 64.

Kath had been battling the disease for four years and was cared for by her devoted husband John.

The couple had lived in Spain for the past 23 years, where they ran a successful business.

Born in the Newport area of Middlesbrough, Kath came from a large family who were well-known greengrocers.

When she was a teenager she went down to London where she worked in a college.

On returning to Teesside she helped her brothers in their Redcar High Street fruit shop, Miller Brothers.

She then established a popular fish and chip shop in Lord Street, Redcar with the help of her husband, and sister Gillian.

In the 1980s she emigrated to Spain to start a new business with John.

The couple set up the Yorkshire Rose bar restaurant in Fuengirola and turned it into a hugely successful business. …
