Classic Artistic Talent to Go on Display

Article excerpt

Byline: Jo Leslie Boyne-Tannum

GLADSTONE region artists have a unique opportunity to showcase their talents in the coming months with three major exhibitions organised by the Boyne Tannum Arts Business and Community Association (BTABC).

Tannum sculptor Rosemary Anderson said the events were designed to cater for all artistic pursuits from photography and painting, to 3D works like patchwork, fibre and mosaics.

First on the calendar is a display by photographers who snapped the action at this year's Coconet Classic.

"Display will be by selection and there will be no entry fee," Mrs Anderson said.

Artists must choose two of their best shots and print them at 24 x 18 centimetres, leaving a two centimetre border.

The best images will be collated and framed by members of the BTABC.

Photographs can be taken to the Heron Room for consideration (9.30am to 4pm) from May 2 to 4.

Entry forms for the photography exhibition are available from Tannum Sands high school, Boyne Island library and the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum. …
