Allora Cow Steals Show in Sydney; {ldquo}Liberty's Days in Centre Ring Are over, She'll Officially Retire This Week{rdquo}

"MIND blowing" is how a small time Allora cattle breeder described winning two of Australia's most prestigious stud titles at the Sydney Royal Show this week.

Beverley Duke beat the cream of the nation's beef breeders to take out the coveted Hordern and Urquhart Perpetual Trophies for grand champion female and supreme beef exhibit.

What makes the feat even more impressive is the Charolais breeder and 12-year-old daughter Teneil own a grand total of four cows.

"Our core business is thoroughbred horses, cattle are just a sideline we got into because Teneil was interested," Mrs Duke said.

That sideline proved particularly lucrative this week when their five-year-old cow Advance Liberty Y73 won $15,000 in prize money.

The RNA describes the coveted perpetual trophies as recognising excellence and achievement in beef production.

"We are stoked, it is mind blowing," Mrs Duke said.

"Liberty has certainly paid to feed herself for quite some time. …
