COARSE ANGLING THE settled weather has encouraged carp to go on feeding, and with other species adding variety, stillwater anglers have enjoyed another cracking week.

Tees Valley anglers featured prominantly at The Oaks, where John Maddison (Browning Quaker) came out of top with 79lb 12oz of carp and ide on caster high in the water at peg 30 on

Alders. 44 fished.

Ashley Clements (Daiwa Cleveland Angling Centre) was third with 68lb 14oz, then came Andy Newton (Browning Quaker) 59lb; Andy Dargue (Browning Quaker) 56lb 2oz; and Peter Rambow jnr (Daiwa Cleveland Angling Centre) 54lb 7oz.

Over the week, weights at the venue topped 86lb, though Woodlands was the place to head for the heaviest nets..

In the Saturday match, fished by 74, Derek Parrington of Cleveland Angling Centre, set the standard with 185lb 8oz.

He caught carp to 12lb on seven metre pole and pellet from peg 19 on Partridge lake. The next five anglers all topped the ton.

Andy Geldard was runner up with 126lb 2oz, then came Adam Richards with 119lb 11oz, Dave Cain (Darlington Angling Centre) 108lb 8oz, Mick Lodge (Woodlands Tackle) 104lb 8oz and Brian Barker (Browning Quaker) who took 101lb 8oz to the scales. …
