{Victim of Rape Says Ordeal Has Ruined Her Life} {}; She Wants Him to Pay - Financially

A WOMAN violently raped by a Rockhampton man with hepatitis C when she was a teenager is suing her attacker, saying the ordeal destroyed her life.

Since the attack the woman hasn't worked, has been shunned by family members, goes nowhere unless she is armed and for a long time was beaten on a daily basis by a series of violent partners.

Now she wants her attacker, who was jailed for 10 years, to pay financially.

The woman, who has left Rockhampton to live in another Central Queensland town to move on from the memories, has lodged a claim in the District Court at Rockhampton seeking criminal compensation.

The rape happened late on a night in October, 2002, under a bridge in Rockhampton when the woman was 16 and her attacker in his early 30s.

In her claim the woman, who can't legally be named, said the attack changed her life.

She cut of her hair after the attack to disguise herself because she feared he would find her again. …
