THERE are 28 "working girls" aged between 20 and 45 at Number 33, according to John Cullen.

"The 45-year-old makes more money than any of them," Mr Cullen said. "We've got nurses, students, single mums.

"Some are really fussy; one changes her name every day.

"One girl only gave me a name and a mobile phone number, that's it. But none of them are local. They can't risk being recognised."

On entry to the brothel, customers are greeted by the receptionist and introduced to the girls one by one.

Many clients are hesitant to enter the building and have been known to drive up and down the street picking up courage to get to the front door.

"They are so paranoid about being seen," Mr Cullen laughed.

Each woman provides her own condoms, outfits and "toys"; one of them is notorious for bringing an entire suitcase to work.

"Condoms must be worn under NSW law and we also have house rules for the girls to follow," Mr Cullen said. "They aren't allowed to wear strong perfume or deo- dorant because the guys don't want to smell like it. …
