SYDNEY female sprintcar driver Kelly Linigen is a strong contender for the $5000-to-the-winner AZA Motel Gold Cup at Lismore Speedway tomorrow night.

Linigen, 30, has raced sprintcars for 13 years and is one of the most experienced drivers on the national scene. She is serious about her racing and comes to Lismore fresh from her most successful season in Sydney.

She came third in the final points standings for the 18-round premiership series at the Parramatta Raceway.

Linigen is not fazed racing in a man's domain in the rough and tumble world of sprintcar racing.

"I'm not treated any differently on the track to any other competitor," she said.

"We're all out there to win and I certainly want to win, that's for sure."

After racing for her parents' sprintcar team for the past 12 years, Linigen switched camps this summer after a generous offer was made to join the high-profile Aussie Fork Lift Repairs-backed sprintcar stable. …
