LEGENDARY Boro fan Alastair Brownlee is predicting victory for his beloved Boro in tonight's titanic Tyne-Tees derby.

As the pressure mounts before the 8pm kick-off, the Middlesbrough-born BBC Tees commentator is confident his heroes in red will get the right result and repay the fantastic support they have received from fans this season.

"The fans have been magnificent this year," said Alastair.

"At the Riverside and especially away from home, they have been excellent. The last three home games have seen 30,000 plus attendances.

"They are really willing the team on and I believe they will get the victory everyone wants." The broadcaster has covered some huge games involving Boro, including FA, Carling and UEFA Cup finals, and he sees tonight's clash as one of the most important.
