WITH a plot modelled on A Christmas Carol and a star that has a limited character range, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past makes for easy viewing.

Matthew McConaughey plays celebrity photographer Connor Mead who is living a life of freedom, fun and multiple women.

He's the type of guy who breaks up with three girlfriends at once on a conference call.

It's a character role that is pretty similar to most others that McConaughey has starred in - think How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days (2003) and Failure to Launch (2006).

He idolises his Uncle Wayne (Michael Douglas) who lived a legendary life filled with stories of women and partying.

At his brother Paul's wedding, where Connor is invited for the bridesmaids pleasure as much as any other reason, he is reunited with his first love Jenny (Jennifer Garner).

Jenny is the only woman who seems unaffected by Connor's womanising ways.

But on the eve of the wedding, Uncle Wayne's ghost pays a visit to Connor and warns him of the direction his life is heading. …
