THE TENTH annual Middlesbrough Music Live line-up has been announced - and it's looking like a scorcher! One of the most exciting groups taking to the various stages dotted around the town centre on Sunday, June 7, will be THE SUNSHINE UNDERGROUND, a band with big tunes full of gusto and angular, psychedelic guitar-pop.

The festival has also attracted the talents of NOAH AND THE WHALE - the genial four-piece famed for the hit 5 Years Time - who are bound to make a big splash.

Another "one to look out for" is the brilliant South London rapper MASTER SHORTIE, a man who began his career in hip-hop at 16 and has gone from strength to strength ever since.

The festival, which this year becomes a decade old, is a fixture in the calendar and last year attracted more than 45,000 people to Middlesbrough for the event organised by local promoters Ten Feet Tall on behalf of Middlesbrough Council.

Graham Ramsay, from Ten Feet Tall, says: "We're really pleased with the line up we've put together. As always there's a really good mix of well known bands and bands that people might not have heard of just yet, but will definitely have heard of this time next year!" Judith Croft, from Middlesbrough Council's events team, adds: "What really sets Music Live apart is the fact that all the stages are only a few minutes walk from each other, and this creates an enormous buzz right across the site, with tens of thousands of music fans constantly on the move from one stage to the next, all on the look-out for their new favourite band.

"The fact that the town centre can boast such a great range of different sites and venues really helps to set Middlesbrough Music Live apart from virtually every other music festival in the country." Sounds' ones to look out for this year are numerous, but for a start we advise you get on your computer and put the following band's names into Google next to the word MySpace - FUTURE OF THE LEFT, THE BLACK BOX REVELATION and BEAR HANDS. …
