CHAMPIONS Jap Parts UK got off to a poor start when they lost at home to MSVSport.

Batting first, MSVSport made 88-9 with S Rashid top scoring with 30.

S Akbar (4-18) and T Mahmood (4-16) took the wickets. Tight bowling restricted Jap Parts' reply, and A Ghafoor took 4-22.

Ormesby Hall were on top form with the bat, making an impressive 223-2 when visiting Azaad.

U Shahid was unbeaten just one short of a century, while P Rashid made 70. Despite a 51-run opening partnership, the home side tumbled to 89 all out with B Noor (4-27) doing most of the damage.

Blue Line Taxis knocked up 143-6 at home to Boro Cars as T Ramzan made 62. In reply, Boro Cars had no answer to a four-man bowling attack and slumped to 50 all out.

M Brown (4-6) and C Simpson (3-13) had Pot and Glass back in the pavilion for 52 before JMG Marton openers knocked the runs off without loss, P Vaughan contributing 34 of them.

In B Division, promoted Boro Jewellers restricted University of Teesside to 95-6. A Qayyum took 4-19. Jewellers' reply was led by N Ayubi (41) and T Ali (41no) who saw them to 99-3.

The other promoted side, Specsavers, bowled Winning Post out for 57 to win easily.

Relegated Balti Hut struggled at home to Crown Cars with S Driver (45), M Price (37) and K Hewson (38no) setting up the visitors' 127-3. In the reply K Saeed scored 30 but Balti Hut could only manage 110-9.

Stafford Place reached 80-5 at home to Yarm with D Macauley hitting an unbeaten 40. Despite Teta's 3-5, the visitors reached 81-7.

In C Division, promoted Moorsholm hit 179-2 at home to Seal Sands with L Crooks contributing 87 and R Whitwell chipping in with an unbeaten 30.

The bowlers then combined to get Seal Sands out for 91.

Tall Trees have switched grounds to Thornaby where J Roberts (5-12) and L Gowland (4-7) ensured Nunthorpe Merlin struggled to 49. …
