Chelsea's Wait for Ancelotti Decision Is Almost Over

CARLO ANCELOTTI is believed to be ready to make a decision about his future this weekend as he ponders a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Ancelotti, favourite to become the next permanent Chelsea manager, has insisted he will be staying with AC Milan.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, the club's president, has refuted quotes attributed to him that were critical of the - year-old and plans to have talks with Ancelotti tomorrow to ensure he does stay.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani also expects Ancelotti to stay.

He said: "The opinion of the players is important and will be taken into consideration in the choice of a coach. We never thought about Marco van Basten.

"The next coach will also not be Leonardo.

With Ancelotti there is an excellent relationship so he could also stay on for next season." Milan are believed to have been looking at their former midfielder Frank Rijkaard, who is also on Chelsea's wish-list, should their bid for Ancelotti fall through. …
