Honesty Still the Best Policy in Caloundra

MAINTENANCE worker Terry Walsh knows value when he sees it.

And he reckons the honesty of people in Caloundra is priceless.

On Saturday, 58-year-old Terry lost his wallet after picking up some groceries at the IGA Caloundra supermarket on Caloundra Road.

"I must have dropped my wallet while carrying my bags through the door, which had cash for the week and credit cards in it," he said.

"I had not noticed that the wallet had fallen out of my pocket."

Now, thanks to an honest store customer, Terry has been reunited with his lost wallet, cards and the cash he had to pay some bills.

"After getting home, I received a cheerful call from my local IGA staff member who confirmed who I was before informing me that they had found my wallet with the cash and would like to return it to me," Terry said.

"In these bad economic times, I was so grateful for the honesty of these members of my community."

Terry hasn't had the chance to thank the anonymous customer who handed in the wallet with all its contents still intact, but he is extremely grateful to them and IGA Caloundra manager John McPhail, who took the time to phone him. …
