Teacher Aide Recognised for 25 Years of Service

WHEN Sharon Biddle was handed her award by Executive Director of Schools Don Grobe in recognition of 25 years of educational service, she was overwhelmed by a great sense of accomplishment and achievement.

Mrs Biddle, who is a general teachers aide at Murray's Bridge State School and an administration assistant at Warwick State High School, said her love for her work came from the fact she gained real joy from engaging with the students in her care.

"The whole thing has just been amazing," she said of her time working with children.

The long-serving teacher's aide and administration assistant began work at Murray's Bridge State School in 1984 as a general teacher aide after the death of her husband.

"I was happy to take on a part-time job that was only for 15 hours a week so I could look after my young children," she said.

"I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined I would end up working there for 25 years. …
