A GLADSTONE man accused of two armed robberies in 2006, including one while wearing a Scream mask, appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court yesterday.

Luke Daniel Donoghue, 22, is facing two counts of armed robbery with violence.

The robberies are alleged to have happened at a Sun Valley bottle shop on November 1, 2006 and a J Hickey Drive convenience store on December 27, 2006.

He did not enter a plea yesterday.

The court heard Donoghue had been driving around with friends on the day of the first offence, when he told his companions he wanted to do a robbery.

The trio drove to the Sun Valley shopping centre where Donoghue allegedly donned a Scream mask, and took a 30cm knife.

After allegedly robbing a male bottle store attendant of about $600, he returned to the car and the three drove to the Sunshine Coast, where they stayed for three days.

On December 27, the trio was again driving around Gladstone when Donoghue again allegedly decided he wished to commit another robbery. …
