Superbike Pacesetter Unlocks Raceway Secrets

TEAM Joe Rocket Suzuki's Josh Waters returns to one of his favourite tracks, Queensland Raceway, with a winning formula for the third round of the Australian Superbike Championship this weekend.

Waters won three out of four races in the Supersport class at the demanding Ipswich circuit last year, crashing while leading in the final race.

He made the step up to the Superbike class for this year and currently leads the championship.

He recorded some dazzling times during testing at Queensland Raceway two weeks ago. Waters has seemingly unlocked the secret to the tough track, confident he knows where to make up time.

"You've got to make sure you miss the bumps as they can really unsettle the bike," Waters said.

"With the slow corners and short straights, the bike also wants to either wheelspin or wheelie every time you get on the power so it's all about being smooth.

"Turns four and five are really important as they're the only left handers in the whole track. …
