SMART hurdler Caoba made a winning return to the level at Nottingham earlier this month - and a penalty may not be enough to stop her following up in the Goodwood Aerodrome Stakes at the West Sussex venue (2.25).

The five-year-old enjoyed a fine winter campaign over obstacles, winning twice as well as finishing third in a Listed contest at Cheltenham in April.

Victor Dartnall's mare had not competed on the Flat on British soil prior to her most recent effort, when, after striking the front a long way from home, she did well to keep up the gallop to score a shade cosily.

Caoba was probably value for more than the winning margin on that occasion and with champion jockey Ryan Moore again in the plate, it would be surprising if she is not involved..

Critical Path was a massive eyecatcher on her racecourse introduction at Kempton and has to be rated shortlist material in the Goodwood Flying School Maiden Fillies' Stakes (4.45).

Her trainer Andrew Balding has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and although sent off a relatively unconsidered 33-1 chance, this filly was a slightly unlucky fourth on her debut after having been hampered in the straight.

The William Haggas inmate did not show a great deal when sixth on his debut at Pontefract, but his second at Ripon last time was much more like it.

Admin was another to take the eye on his debut and has been found a very winnable opportunity at Haydock.
