Journal Details Tom's Journey; Morning Tea Celebrates Courage

TOM Panitz is a typical eight year old who loves his Nintendo DS and Playstation.

What's not typical is that Tom has an aggressive form of cancer known as Rhabdomyosarcoma.

His parents, Sarah and Tim, discovered a lump on his leg last September and from that Tom was diagnosed in October and has been undergoing treatment since.

As they undergo the rounds of hospital visits and chemotherapy sessions, Sarah has taken to recording Tom's journey with photos and journalling.

"One of the most helpful things we have done after Tom's diagnosis is take lots of photos and journal his story so that we can celebrate the good times and remember his bravery and courage when things have not gone so well," she said.

"I have created a book for Tom to remember his journey and we read it all the time to see how far he has come, to remember how brave he is and to inspire him to be brave when he has to face the numerous challenges of treatment. …
