DARLINGTON drummer and singer Sarah Wilson is a regular festival goer - whether she's playing with her band, Belladonna, or letting her hair down in the audience.

"Fashion-wise, I think anything goes," says Sarah, left. "The festival I went to last year was all maxi dresses and wellies, which in real life you would never put together.

"Neon colours are really nice - and if you have lost your mate in the crowd you might have a better chance of spotting them if they're in a pink neon vest!" Scuffed cowboy boots are a good alternative to wellies, although she always takes hers.

"Sometimes I wish I had nice flip flops with me when the sun's out but it's not good if someone stamps on your toes. And never take heels - you will just sink into the mud." Be flexible and fun, is her motto.

"Denim cut-off hotpants, Kate Moss style, or playsuits - they can be dressed up or down with some funky bracelets and chains." But if you're going to a one-day festival, like Middlesbrough Music Live, then go for all-out glamour, even down to your funky false eyelashes with neon ends. …
