Recognising Benefits of Belonging to the NECC

IT is a very great privilege for me to write this column as the new president of the region's foremost business membership organisation.

The North East Chamber of Commerce is an organisation with a heritage stretching back nearly two centuries and yet it is one that is more relevant today than ever before.

It is an all-weather organisation - there in the good times to help businesses to grow and prosper; and there in the tougher times, standing shoulder to shoulder with companies of all sizes to make difficult economic conditions such as we are currently experiencing much more bearable.

Record numbers of businesses are turning to NECC at this time because they recognise the benefits of belonging to a body that can do so much for them on so many levels.

There is a great deal about the North East that we should be proud of and I intend to do all that I can in this new role to help build upon our previous successes. …
