Choir to return

THEY wowed them in Gladstone last year and this year the members of the Watoto Children's Choir will do it again on July 2.

The Concert of Hope, which aims to raise awareness of the plight parentless children in Uganda, will go on stage at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre on from 7pm.

The choir is part of the Watoto Child Care Ministries, which provides for children left parentless as a result of war and disease, also organises teams of people to go to Uganda to build homes, schools and infrastructure at Watoto Village. Gladstone spokesman Brian Bettridge said it was planned to send 15 people to Uganda in February to help in that work. Participants must pay their own fare, but housing and meals will be supplied.

Choir tickets are $5 and available from the Gladstone Baptist Church Office in Archer Street. Anyone interested in joining the Gladstone team should phone Mr Bettridge on 0416 102 078 or Greg Marbach on 0407 724 459. …
