THE Summer Sale has started - send us your offers! Boro have officially opened the doors to clubs who might be interested in their want-away players.

Chief executive Keith Lamb says that all bids will be considered on their merits, while adding that Boro have decided against issuing a 'for sale' list.

Lamb said: "Those players that want to leave - and can find a club that can satisfy our demands - may well leave, that's football.

"By that I mean that Gareth Southgate is prepared to release them from his squad if we get reasonable compensation.

"It's more effective for us to sit back and wait to see what comes in, rather than send out a list of names.

"We have been relegated, everybody knows we have been relegated, and we know that clubs will look at our squad and decide whether they want to try to sign any of our players.

"It's a sensible way of addressing the situation because only those players for whom we receive satisfactory offers will be able to leave, regardless of what immediate feelings are following our relegation." There are some players for whom offers will not be entertained - such as David Wheater and Adam Johnson.

But Boro will carefully consider any bids for the players who have indicated to Southgate that they are not happy at the prospect of playing in the Championship next season.

Any key players who are sold, will be replaced before August 8 so that Boro are in a position 'to hit the ground running' at the start of the promotion campaign.

Boro have released no names, though Southgate has ascertained which players would prefer to move on this summer.

This follows a series of showdown meetings within days after relegation was confirmed following the defeat at West Ham.

The main reason why Boro have decided not to circulate a list of players who are unhappy, is in case Boro receive no bids for them. …
