The big ones have proved elusive this week, with nothing above 5lb caught.

In cloudy weather the dry fly sport is excellent, with large Black Klinkhammer a key pattern, though olives are hatching and attracting fish. Cat's Whisker is the pick of the lures when fish go deeper in bright sunshine.

A further 250 trout, with an average weight of over 2lb, have just been stocked.

FLY angler Les Wheatley from Skelton caught and returned 12 trout, including a rainbow of 4lb, at SCALING DAM.

Bait rod Dave Jacobs from Eston caught 11 fish for 19lbs, nine of them being over 3lbs.

His partner Karen Green caught 12, her biggest being 6lbs 2oz.
