Snowy's 'Cooking' in Role as TV Chef

STEVEN Snow is renowned as being one of Australia's top seafood chefs, but the restaurateur of Fins at Salt didn't realise he had a "great head for television".

After appearing on lifestyle program Mecurio's Menu earlier this year, the Casuarina chef is putting the Tweed on the menu of foodies and travellers all around Australia as a presenter on Channel Seven's new program; Guide to the Good Life.

"The producers of Mecurio's Menu are doing the show and liked what I did then, and said I had a great style for television," said Mr Snow, who is known locally for his shaved head and relaxed style, as much as his award-winning recipes.

"I never thought that I had a good head for television, but I guess they like what I am doing because I'm being consid- ered for other projects."

After relocating his restaurant from Byron Bay to Salt 18 months ago and selling more than 7500 of his first cook book Byron Cooking and Eating, as well as plans to distribute it in the United Kingdom, Mr Snow said he never thought about a TV career. …
