ALDIN GRANGE LAKES 0191 3846090 Anglers prepared to change tactics have done well with fish a little moody at times. Small nymphs and buzzers down to size 18s have taken trout. Other good patterns were PTN, Hare's Ear, Tadpole, Emergers, CdC and Black Gnat.

CHATTON TROUT FISHERY 01668 215226 Dry flies and Buzzers have taken trout this week.

Derek Blake from Cambois had 20 trout on dries, while David Armstrong from North Shields had 17 on small Buzzers and CdC's. Joe Brown landed 17 fish also to Buzzers. Plenty of excellent double-figure bags were taken.

DERWENT RESERVOIR 01207 255250 479 anglers caught 1596 fish, with M Duncan landing the best at 9lb 8oz and plenty of anglers landing fish over 7lb. M Duncan, C Ward, A Nunn and G Gilbey all had specimen trout. Colin Brown landed a tiger trout with a price on its head. Top flies were Black Fritz, Dawson's Olive, Viva Fritz and Daiwl Bach.

Best baits were Yellow Powerbait Eggs.

FONTBURN RESERVOIR 01669 621368 247 anglers landed 963 trout in a fine week's sport.

Sid Barnes had 7 for 15lb, while Jodie Nixon landed a lovely blue of 5lb. J Tulip had a bag limit for 19lb.

Best fly was the Dawson's Olive and top baits were Chartreuse and Orange Powerbait and Gobstoppers.

GRASSHOLME RESERVOIR 01833 641121 288 anglers caught 959 trout, with Darlington angler

Bramwell Booth landing a fine 7lb 1oz blue trout on a Goldhead Dawson's Olive. Jim Crouch from Cramlington had one of 6lb 3oz. Fish have been deeper. Bait anglers did well on Yellow and Pink Powerbaits and worm. Best flies were Mayfly, Zulu, Orange Egg Fly, Cats Whisker and Invicta. Low Rigg, Stake Hill and the Dam Wall were top venues.

HURY RESERVOIR 01833 641121 59 rods caught 262 trout in a week when John Spence landed a super blue of 10lb. Gordon Woodins had some fine fish, including a rainbow of 6lb and a brown trout of 3lb 5oz taken on a Mayfly.

Best flies were Dry Mayfly, Red Tag, Green and Black Buzzers, Bibio, Small Black Lures and Cats Whisker.

JUBILEE TROUT LAKES 01388 772611 Trout proved to be choosy at times this week, and those caught were on a wide range of patterns. Best fish of the week was an 11lb 14oz rainbow caught by Keith Pearson on a Dawson's Olive. Effective flies were Hare's Ear, Diawl Bach, Deer Hair or CdC Emergers, Sedges Alders and Buzzers. Black Tadpoles and Daddies also took trout.

KIELDER WATER 01434 251000 156 anglers took 396 trout with rainbows to 6lb weighed in. Eddie Walker had seven rainbows from 18lb at Tower Knowe on ledgered worm. Best flies were Orange Nomad, PTN and Alexandra. Best bait was worm and top venues were Tower Knowe and Hawkhope.
