It is a trend which has been developing for some time and, in the past few years, the Asian influence has especially crept into Queensland's circle of interior design.
While bright whites, sandy tones and beach themes are still popular here on the Sunshine Coast, the Asian trend is emerging.
From those with a disposable income right through to people on a budget, the Asian theme is relatively easy to create.
Homeware stores are brimming with Thai, Chinese, Balinese and Japanese furnishings and decor.

"Asian decor is big as an east-meets-west style is exploding on to the scene," she said.
"If you don't have any Asian influences in your home, now is the time to add that dramatic touch."
Lindy is the manager of Windemere Interiors and works closely with Adenbrook Homes on the Sunshine Coast.
