BLYTH Spartans have announced that former Newcastle United reserves coach Adam Sadler is to be Mick Tait's right-hand man.

Newcastle Benfield's former Sunderland trainee striker Ian Graham, meanwhile, today signed a deal that will take the 22-year-old to Croft Park.

Tait has also added his son Michael, 21 tomorrow, to a rebuilt Spartans squad, the midfielder having previously played for Workington and Newcastle Blue Star.

It has been a productive few days for Tait, who is looking to bring several players in before the Blue Square North season gets under way on August 8.

Tait side: "I'm delighted with the four summer signings so far, and that Adam Sadler has agreed to join the club as he is a top young coach.

"He coached the goalkeepers and then the reserves at Newcastle and joined the Norwich City coaching staff, only for Glen Roeder to be sacked just after he had arrived at Carrow Road.

"He is an up-and-coming coach and very enthusiastic, but if he gets an offer to return to the professional game then he'll go with our best wishes. …
