BURN marks vividly scar Ryan Blissett's battered body, a legacy of a punishment beating which almost cost him his life.

The new dad suffered a horrifyingly savage attack at the hands of his torturers who claimed he owed them money.

And during the hourslong ordeal they: Doused him in boiling water Pressed a scorching iron on him Beat him with iron bars Chewed his ears, and Threatened to nail him to a cross.

His suffering only ended when they told him to run and then fired a gun at him.

Today, with the men responsible behind bars awaiting sentence, Ryan, 21 has revealed it was the thought of holding his baby boy again which gave him the strength to struggle on.

The Newcastle College student, of Blaydon, Gateshead, said: " I couldn't even pick the baby up.

That's been one of the hardest things about the injuries .

" I remember when I got to the hospital I was dripping from head to toe with blood, but all I wanted to do was see my son.

" For days after it happened I was in shock. All I could think is the whole nightmare is going to take a long time to get over. It's left me scared all over." Daniel Corcoran, 25, of Lead Road, Greenside, Gateshead, admitted kidnapping, falsely imprisoning, and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, at Newcastle Crown Court..

His cousin Kevin Corcoran, 23, of Front Street, Monkseaton, Whitley Bay.

admitted falsely imprisoning Ryan. Both had been due to stand trial, but changed their pleas.

Recorder Graeme Hyland remanded them in custody as he adjourned sentencing until next month, to allow reports to be prepared by the Probation Service.

Reliving December's attack, Ryan told how Daniel Corcoran was waiting for him when he left a friend's home in Greenside, and bundled him into the boot of a BMW.

"He took me to the golf course at Garesfield, near Chopwell, and threw me in the boot.

"When he pulled me out of the boot and dragged me inside I started to worry. He smacked my head against a wall so hard it went straight through it.

"Someone poured boiling water over me. He kept making threats about my baby, I just didn't know what to do. …
