Frozen Entree Makes for Good Meal; New Healthy Choice Product Ideal for Both Lunch and Dinner

Healthy Choice All Natural Entrees offer an imaginative mix of ingredients high in fiber, rich in antioxidants and low in cholesterol and saturated fat.
Members of the Times-Union Consumer Panel ate the Pumpkin Squash Ravioli, a medley of pumpkin-filled ravioli, asparagus, butternut squash and Granny Smith apples in a butter-sage sauce.
"It was good," said surgical nurse Kathy Vynanek, who ate the entree for dinner but said it would also make a good lunch.
She said she found the meal well seasoned with a good balance of ingredients. "The squash was soft and a little mushy, but the asparagus had a slight crispness and was nice, not woody."
Vynanek described the pumpkin filling as kind of sweet and a good contrast to the vegetables. "There's plenty in the ravioli. I tasted only a slight amount of butter and sage in the sauce, but it was pretty thick and coated the pasta and vegetables real well."
Although marketing representative Toni Stenmark thought the ravioli was too chewy, she liked the sweet pumpkin filling and the creamy consistency of the sauce. "It's perfectly seasoned, and there's plenty of vegetables, but I thought the asparagus was green beans."
She said the entree makes a satisfying meal for one. "I might try cooking it in a steamer in the microwave. It would be nice to have for lunch."
The pumpkin filling was also a favorite of Stacey Blum and her husband. "We loved it," said the stay-at-home mom.
She enjoyed the crunchy texture of the asparagus but, like Stenmark, mistook it for green beans. "I'll buy the ravioli again and serve it as a side dish. It would be really good with other food."
Mortgage loan coordinator Chris Zalupski enjoyed the crisp vegetables but said the ravioli was thick and chewy, and the dish needed more sauce. …
