Peter Joins Team as a School-Based Trainee

BUSINESS has been so good for Paramount Stainless Steel and Aluminium Fabrication that owner Aaron Armstrong recently took on a school based trainee.

Currently in Year 12 at St Patrick's College, Peter Tryhorn started at Paramount a few months ago and will complete a 12-month traineeship and Certificate II in sheet metal working when he finishes school at the end of the year.

Peter currently works at Paramount every Thursday and other days during the year when able.

Aaron said it was good to be able to give a young man a career break, while helping out his business which is booming.

He said the qualification Peter would have at the end of the year could open doors in the industry and lead to getting an apprenticeship.

"He's already done on-the-job training and essentially done part of an apprenticeship," Mr Armstrong said.

Peter has learnt the basics doing a lot of cutting and drilling and as he gets a bit further into the traineeship he will be folding and welding. …
