Newsagency Doubles Staff as Lotto Fever Hits

THE prize of a lifetime just got bigger and Ipswich newsagents are smashing records of their own as the city breaks out in $90 million Oz Lotto fever.

Rosewood resident Seru Waqanaceva and daughters Tyla, 7, and Taris, 4, tried to increase his odds yesterday with an 18 game Quickpick on top of his weekly numbers.

"It is difficult to comprehend that sum of money - you wouldn't know what to do with it," Mr Waqanaceva said.

"It is a cliche but I would look after the family, sort out the mortgage and set my two daughters up."

But daughter Tyla's plans were a little more developed.

"I would like toys," she said.

"About 90 of them."

NewsXpress Riverlink owner Jayson Williams said he doubled his staff to cope with the expected record breaking 230 customers per hour desperate to be in it to win it.

"Ninety million is the biggest lotto ever in Australia - it is really amazing," Mr Williams said.

"We are expecting a really big day today. …
