Mixed Exhibitions Provide Points of Interest for Variety of Fans

SOMETIMES the very eclectic nature of mixed exhibitions offers immeasurable interest and can fine-tune art appreciation.

The Warwick Regional Art Gallery has mixed Australian folk history with artistic interpretation in the exhibition Warm My Heart.

Community interest and pride combine with creativity to celebrate the workman's humble singlet in a tribute to the famous shearer, Jackie Howe who was born near Warwick.

The responses to the subject are varied and personal.

They include Margaret Clift's assemblage of memorabilia, a dissected singlet by Diaz, and Tom Benkendorff's bale stencils and singlet text.

Loretta Grayson's clever use of atlas maps in the shape of a singlet adorned with threads and a warm red heart comment on the economic climate.

Dorothy Haig salutes the spirit of endurance in the days before mechanisation.
