A MASSIVE $25,000 worth of damage was caused by lead foots in Mackay on Saturday night.

But don't worry - it was all part of the action-packed Monster Truck Show.

Organiser Clive Featherby said big thrills, spills and expensive carnage were all essential elements of the show.

"That's what the punters pay for," Mr Featherby said.

"We have a big budget for repairs.

"It costs about $145,000 to put on a show."

A sell-out crowd of 9000 were on the edge of their seats for the three-hour spectacular at the showgrounds.

Mr Featherby said people came to Mackay from across regional Queensland to experience the adrenaline extravaganza.

"As an example, we had a busload of 68 from Rockhampton and a busload of 42 from Townsville," he said.

"Monster Trucks have something of a cult following."

Mr Featherby said destruction driver Kreg 'The Boss' Christensen was definitely a highlight of the night. …
