Suns Fired Up to Keep Finals Hopes Alive

CALOUNDRA Suns guard Ben McGlynn says its time for his team to step up to the mark.

And the opportunity to break a three-match losing streak does not get much easier for the Suns then when they host bottom-placed Toowoomba tomorrow night.

The Mountaineers have not won a game from 15 starts this QBL season while the Suns are teetering on the edge of the top eight with a 50% win-loss record.

A win this weekend would keep their finals aspirations alive, but with just four regular games remaining, nothing is set in concrete.

McGlynn, who has not tasted victory since returning from a knee injury this year, said it was about time he and his teammates asserted themselves on the competition.

"I would have preferred to play a little bit better and be a little bit more helpful, but after being off for so long it's hard to get back out there and start where you finished off before an injury," he said yesterday. …
