For the first 50 minutes of Saturday night's clash the Hervey Bay Seagulls hung tough - and for 10 minutes at the start of the second half, it looked like they might be a chance of causing a huge upset.

But in the end the class of the Maryborough Wallaroos won out and the final score line, 50-14, soon became one the Hervey Bay side would rather forget.

The Wallaroos went into the half time break leading 16-4 after in-form centre Shaun Collins opened the scoring for the Maryborough side but the match was far from over as far as the Seagulls were concerned.

In an expansive and entertaining display, in the opening minutes of the first half, both sides put on plenty of points to make the score line 26-14 in favour of the Wallaroos.

Seagulls centre Michael Bugeja scored the two tries that got the Seagulls back into the match.

Just when the match was starting to look like an arm wrestle, however, the Wallaroos' attack came to life. …
