MAROOCHYDORE Clippers guard Amy Browne has spent the past year playing college ball in the US.

On Saturday night against Ipswich she showed why.

The 19-year-old put on a shooting lesson to help the Clippers to a hard-fought 79-75 away win over the Force.

Browne's 36 points, accumulated with an impressive field-goal percentage of 62.5% was the catalyst behind the victory, which snapped a frustrating five-match losing streak for Maroochydore. Having won six of their opening nine matches this season, three of those losses were by a single basket.

With only three matches before the finals, the result was vital for the Clippers' hopes of tasting play-off basketball.

"There are only a few games left, and we really needed a win, so it was good to get some form back," Browne said yesterday.

"The girls were giving some good assists and I was in the right spot, I guess."

Ipswich took a seven-point lead into halftime, thanks to a 22-14 second quarter, but the Clippers hit back to level the scores at three-quarter time. …
