IT hasn't been a good week.

Local senior rugby union seems to lurch from one crisis to another, our rates went up and the Poms stole a draw in the first Ashes Test.

Add to that the fact the Blues won the game and the fight on Wednesday night, I snapped a tooth and copped a massive dose of the flu.

Not the swine variety apparently, but it's enough to make red wine smell like petrol, my wife's wonderful meals taste like cardboard, and my head feeling like a mad possum is stuck inside trying to punch it's way out through my eyes.

Now if the Wallabies don't manage an upset win against the All Blacks tonight, then it really will be the week from hell. The swine flu mightn't have yet had an impact on the West household, but it's certainly having an impact on tonight's test in Auckland.

The locals have been told to stay at home if they are showing any symptoms of swine flu.

So every Kiwi with a ticket to the first Bledisloe Cup of 2009 at a sold-out Eden Park, is going to stay at home just because they have a sore throat or a runny nose? …
