Jack Proud of His Defence at Schools Event

PROMISING rugby league utility Jack Glossop showed he has the skills to rumble with the best in Queensland when he represented Capricornia at the Queensland Primary Schools Championship in Runaway Bay, Gold Coast earlier this month.

Glossop formed an essential part of the forward pack, slotting into the second row of the undefeated U11 team.

The group of 17 youngsters dominated the competition all week to claim the championship trophy, the second time a Capricornia team has done this in the 55-year history of the Vic Jenson Cup.

The U11s conceded 20 points over the course of the week-long competition, a fact that Jack takes prides in.

"The strongest part of my game was my defence.

"We only got 20 points scored against us, so the whole team's defence was good," he said.

The Valleys U12 front rower was not only given valuable match experience but also the chance to meet big-name players from his favourite NRL team, the Gold Coast Titans. …
