Souths Eye Return to Winners Circle; Injuries, Illness Leave Bombers in Tatters

A DEPLETED South Toowoomba outfit will be on alert today when it looks to return to the AFL Darling Downs winner's list against the Warwick Redbacks.

Souths high-flying mid-season run was halted last week when Coolaroo handed them a 51-point drubbing in their top-of-the-table clash.

Today they'll look to quickly regain winning momentum but with their playing roster in tatters due to illness and injury the Bombers expect a spirited clash with Warwick in the first of this afternoon's USQ double header.

Warwick enter today's match on a high following its 73-point thumping last week of Toowoomba Tigers.

Souths captain Keith Webb said his team was still ringing around yesterday trying to finalise its line-up for today.

"We're struggling to get our numbers together through injuries and illness that is going around at the moment," Webb said.

"At this stage I think we have only 19 fit players.

"Warwick I believe will be pretty close to full strength so this is a real danger game for us. …
