CONGRATULATIONS to Tweed 13s, 14s, 15/16s and Opens who competed at the Country Championships over the weekend.

All teams performed well, with the combined 15/16s who competed in the 16s age group Division 2 coming home in third position, missing out on second place by one goal.

The team was made up of eight 15-year-olds and two 16-year-olds, and because of the combined age group were placed in the higher division. It was a huge challenge for the girls who at the end of day one hadn't lost a game.

Well done to the team and coach Tracy McKenzie for a top effort.

Our 13s and 14s competed in Division 1 for their age group and will draw from the experience for the future.

A brave effort also to our Open side which was brought together in the dying stages leading up to the carnival.

Thank you to Jenna Windley and Leiarna Dooley for putting together this side, and to coach Cathy Gigas.

There is never a dull moment when you tour with the rep teams and apparently this trip was no different.

Unfortunately (or fortunately or me) I was not on tour this time but I'm looking forward to hearing more from the girls who apparently know what its like to be a sardine after the bus trip up and back - apparently the double-decker booked, headed south to Splendour and not as planned to Rocky.

With the main rep season now over, Tweed will be holding trials for the 2010 season on the following dates:

August, 19 - 12s and 13s age from 4.30 to 6.30pm;

August, 26 - 14s through to 17s from 4.30 to 6.30pm (age = turning age as at 31/12/2010);

The Open trials will be held in January and the date will be advised shortly.

Nomination forms can be collected from the office on Saturdays or from the web ( www.tweednetball.com.au (http://www. …
