Police Appeal for Crash Witnesses; Three Months after Downlands College Students Killed .

THREE months after a crash near Highfields that claimed the life of three Downlands College students, police are calling for witnesses to help their investigations.

The driver of the vehicle in which the three were travelling, teenager Dom Hodal, is yet to have any charges laid against him.

Mr Hodal's car was overloaded with seven teenage boys, two of whom were in the boot, when it crashed through a tree-lined median strip and head-on into another vehicle on the New England Highway around 10pm on May 2.

William Hutchison, Hamish Stewart and Henry Keevers died from massive injuries sustained in the crash.

St Mary's College student Tim Coonan remains in hospital.

Southern Region Police traffic co-ordinator Inspector Glenn Doyle yesterday said police were urging witnesses to come forward.

Insp Doyle said members of the public might have seen Mr Hodal's 1989 Ford Fairlane in Toowoomba, Highfields, or in between, leading up to the crash. …
