FORMER One Nation Queensland leader Bill Feldman has enjoyed the quiet life of a country copper since he stepped out of politics in 2001.

But in the past few months the officer in charge at Marian police station has developed itchy feet.

So he has stepped back into public life, this time as the Queensland Police Union of Employees (QPUE) executive member for the Central Region, which covers Mackay, Rockhampton and west to Longreach.

"The union has done a lot for me over the years and I felt it was time for me to give something back," he said.

Sgt Feldman successfully contested the position of Central Region executive member, which Mark Ballin, of Theodore police station, had held for 12 years.

"I have always been an active union representative," Sgt Feldman said.

During his policing career Sgt Feldman was QPUE representative for Redcliff, Caboolture, Woodridge and Charters Towers. …
