Q. We've recently found a property we really want to buy but, with the market being a little slower than normal, we haven't had a lot of interest in our home. Is it OK to put in an offer for the house we like even though we have no offers on ours? DAVE says: The market is starting to move now across the Tees Valley - each month more houses come on the market and more are selling so you might see interest in your home pick up in the next few weeks.

At this stage you can put in a 'log of interest' on the property with the agent selling the house you like which means that if there is any movement with this property the agent will let you know so you can act accordingly. The other option is, if you are able, to go ahead and buy the property while you continue to try and sell your current home with a view to renting it out if it doesn't sell.
