Final Chances to See 'Old' Carrara

IF you are yet to go along to see our talented under-18 TAC Cup side in action at the soon to be demolished Carrara Stadium, I encourage you to do so.

You have one of two chances left to see the future of the Gold Coast Football Club in action beginning with tomorrow's clash against 12th placed Bendigo Pioneers.

This weekend signifies the penultimate game at the 'old' Carrara as its going to be known.

The game doubles as the curtain raiser to the QAFL heavyweight clash between the Southport Sharks and the Northern Territory, so fans can get a double whammy of quality football.

We've got a great track record at home, boasting a 7-1 win record this season.

They've all been epic encounters too, with four being decided by seven points or less.

Bendigo is going to be at full strength this week, with all their school kids available, so we know that they will come out firing.

The bye last weekend provided us with a good opportunity to do some testing with the boys.

We gave them the weekend off and set about checking their progression in some key areas.

After having last weekend off with a bye, we're refreshed and hungry to build momentum ahead of the looming finals series.

Once we beat Bendigo (hopefully) in front of home fans we then travel south to play third placed Gippsland Power.

That will be our first real test of where we stand ahead of finals, and ahead of our final fixture for the season at home to competition leaders Geelong Falcons on August 29.

After the Falcons game in two weeks, it will be a sad time in some respects, but definitely an exciting time with a state of the art boutique stadium being built and ready for 2011.

This week's game will be a great place to take the family with Kids Zone featuring GCFC players, along with face painting, balloon artists and maybe even a visit from the mascot. …
