A BUDERIM man who gatecrashed a party and fractured the female host's cheekbone has since been involved in the group bashing of a security guard at a Maroochydore pole dancing club.

Benjamin Stephen Dowsett, 22, had also failed to report consistently as required by the probation order he was given in May last year for the gatecrashing incident, in which he hit a 21-year-old mother of two young children at her housewarming party at Sippy Downs.

Mr Dowsett and his girlfriend were among numerous uninvited people who turned up on the evening of December 1, 2006.

Several males began fighting in the backyard and the host asked people to leave.

She exchanged insults with Mr Dowsett's girlfriend and then felt immediate pain when Mr Dowsett punched her right cheek.

The woman required 13 stitches and surgery to repair her cheekbone. She will also need plastic surgery on a scar.

Crown legal officer Nicholas Hanly told Maroochydore District Court on Monday that Mr Dowsett was among a group of youths who were refused alcohol at Electrik Blue Girls, a strip club in Ocean Street, on July 11 last year and then hit out at a security guard. …
